Ieper is situated at 70 km from B&B Bonifacius in Bruges, south of the Province of West Flanders. The city immediately reminds us of the First World War (1914-1918), also known as ‘The Great War’.
The '14-'18 route takes you along multiple military battlefields and cemeteries. Daily, died soldiers are being commemorated during the ‘Last Post’ under the Menin Gate at 20.00h.
Every day there are organised excursions from Bruges to visit the ‘Flanders Fields’, military cemeteries and the ‘Flanders Fields Museum’.
Ieper is also famous for its delicious Beauvoorde and Passchendaele cheeses and the Trappist beer from the Abbey of Westvleteren.
